Hey, here's an idea. Maybe, as a craft, you could not whine about being at home while others of us are at work and legitimately have something to whine about. 'Zat sound good?I say this with great affection, of course. And jealousy.
I think everyone should make cookies and then post pictures of the cookies, and then we should all bid on the cookies and claim them and then we would all have cookies.
I make quilts. It is easy. Buy a yard of patterned fabric. Cut it into squares about the size of your hand. Figure out the order you want to sew them into. Fold two squares color sides together and sew along the seam. Continue about 4 across and 4 down.Add a border if you want.Use a second fabric and align it whole to the 'back' of the square that you sewed (thats the front). Pin it, and sew it together. If you want it soft...put batting (its soft quilting stuff) that goes betwixt those layers). You made a small lap or baby quilt. :)

Last night I made fried pickles, which may sound gross if you're not from, like, Texas or Georgia or Tennessee, but if you are, you know what an awesome and delicious accomplishment that is. Now, Ashley, send me some cookies.
I LOVE FRIED PICKLES!
I love Ashley's cookie idea! I have never heard of fried pickles. Does that just mean they have bread on them? Cause we do that with zucchini here (California=healthy) and they are SO good.
Take the following joke:A man and his pet chicken go to a movie, where they're turned away at the door since poultry are frowned upon in 21st century theaters. The man, loyal to a fault, stuffs the chicken in his pants and manages to sneak into the movie. Unzipping his fly, he and the chicken proceed with watching the movie in peace, basking in their ability to outwit The Man. A woman sitting near the man remarks to her friend that, 'The man I'm sitting next to just unzipped his fly and let something out', to which her friend replies, 'Meh. You've seen one thing, you've seen them all.' 'Yes, but this one's eating my popcorn.'Transcribe this joke in calligraphy onto a thick piece of parchment. Frame it, then hang it in your bathroom or over the dining room table.
i also love fried pickles. they're on every bar menu in DC now, and it makes me SO HAPPY.
Sarah, making a guilt sounds fun! And relatively easy. Do you have any recommendations regarding fabric thickness, or does it just depend on what you want the quilt for?
...Joe, are you making a quilt?
I think Ashley is brilliant. Also, I made brownies this week and it totally counts. http://www.flickr.com/photos/lindsayrn/4371601576/
Jennie..he can't tell you if he makes you a quilt :)...Joe.. just cotton fabric from a fabric store or fabric sections..Its relatively the same thickness..batting has different thickness..
I was never good with Friday deadlines, but I recently did this and this.
Peefer! That's amazing! Also, remember that one time you made an igloo?!
