DON'T TELL ME WHAT I CAN'T DO.
“I’ll be back. You sit there and insult yourself,” she said. But to that point I had not been insulting myself, nor was I planning to.
Nor have I ever.
And later, “Well, thanks for the compliment.”
“You’re welcome! (And I’m amazed you took it!)” she said.
“I’m not THAT stubborn,” by which I meant, “sometimes it’s easier to agree than disagree.”
“You are indeed complex,” she replied. “Many layers. Much intrigue.”
But even I am not that stubborn.

'Yes,' you reply, 'I'm so intriguing and layered with complexity that you're a dirty whore.'
Feel free to use that if you need to.
This brings to mind a lyric from Sarah McLachlan: "...if I agree, well, it's just to appease you, 'cause I don't remember what we're fighting for."
Also, Sir's suggestion seems sound depending on the circumstances. :)
I like Sir's suggestion A LOT.
Mr. E, why did you say Sarah McLachlan?! Now all I can think about is puppies in prison! :( :( :(
